Obituary of Doris Meredith

Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Jane Graham Meredith will be at 10:00 am Monday, April 12, 2010 from Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Don Wright and Sis. Jo Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at Riser Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, April 11, 2010 and from 9am until time of services in the Church on Monday. Mrs. Meredith, 81, of Columbia, was born to the union of Walter and Artie Graham on June 27, 1928 and passed from this life on April 10, 2010, in The Haven Nursing Center of Columbia. She was a nurses aide. She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamine E. Meredith; Son and Daughter-in-law Benni and Linda Meredith; Daughter and son-in-law Jim and Dianne Escalon; 2 great grandchildren; she was born in a family of eight and six brothers precede her in death as well. Survivors include her three daughters: Bonnie Meredith of Grayson; Susan and husband Doug Powe of Grayson; Jo and husband Ricky Mills of Hebert; Sister, Alice Parker of Winnsboro; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jim Wade Escalon, Joseph Escalon, Brian Cannon, Chris Knight, Caire' Powe, and Lee Mills.
