Obituary of Nelwyn Maxwell
Funeral services for Mrs. Nelwyn Lynette Howard Maxwell, age 70 of Hebert, will be 10 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Don Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Maxwell was born on May 12, 1939 in Hebert and passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at her residence. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening, goodies, signing hymns and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to watch her flowers grow and the birds to gather. She traveled overseas with her husband and was blessed to have spent four years in Australia, two years in Chile and much time in the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. She was a long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, avid member of the choir and an AWANA Cubby Class teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents: Luther A. Howard and Julia Josephine Howard. Survivors include her husband of 53 years; Joe Eddie Maxwell, son and daughter-in-law; Todd and Lori Maxwell, daughters: Tracie Maxwell and Dawn Yonts and husband, Paul, grandsons: Jeremy McKeithen, Daniel McKeithen, David Kincaid and wife, Whitney, Joseph Maxwell and wife, Sarah and Thomas Maxwell, granddaughters: Jessica Dalton and Jenna Dalton, great-grandchildren: Logan Lenard, Macey Lenard, Natalie Boyer, Josh Kincaid, Karlee Kincaid and Cirsten McKeithen, three brothers: Luther N. Howard and friend, Donna, Jodie Howard and wife, Becky and Jimmy Howard and wife, Diane, aunts: Hazel Ferrell and Jerri Pierce and uncle; Ted Howard. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and special long-time friend; Joyce Swett. Pallbearers will be Jeremy McKeithen,, Daniel McKeithen, David Kincaid, Joseph Maxwell, Thomas Maxwell and Paul Yonts.
