Obituary of Thomas Crain

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Earl Crain, age 73 of Columbia, will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 5, 2010 from the sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church in Columbia with Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Sunday evening at the Columbia location of Riser Funeral Home from 5-9 PM. Mr. Crain was born in Fort Necessity, LA to Hilton T. Crain and Margie Williams Crain and passed from this life on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was preceded in death by his mother; Margie Williams Crain Duchesne, his biological father; Hilton T. Crain, father; Dennis Brewer Crain and sister; Faye Varnell. Survivors include his wife of 41 years; Fay Stephens Crain of Columbia, two sons: Gary Crain of Grayson and Anthony Crain of Columbia, two daughters: Michelle Crain of Phoenix, AZ and Ashley Crain of Kansas City, MO, three step-children: Belinda Escalante and husband, Alex of Silver City, NM, Cindy Scheverman and husband, Rodney of Great Ben, KS and Kim Hatten of Winnsboro, brother; Edward Crain and wife, Betty of Grayson, two sisters: Elise Strickland and husband Robert of Palmdale, CA and Marie Isacs and husband, Dave of CA, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin Carr, Shannon Varnell, Rick Richmond, John Duncan, George Duncan, Billy Joe Poole and J.C. Stephens.
