Obituary of Jr. Gatlin

Calvin Leo Gatlin, Jr. 57 of Tullos, LA passed from this life on July 19, 2010 at his residence. He was born on September 16, 1952 to Lois Marie McGloflin Gatlin and Leo Gatlin, Sr in Marvell, Arkansas. Calvin attended Straight Road Full Gospel Church in Olla, LA. He had served in the LA National Guard and was employed by the LaSalle Correctional Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother's Dee Gatlin, David Gatlin, and his niece Mary Ann Goodwin. Calvin's family include sister's Betty Goodwin & Charles of Urania, Thelma Cox and Herbert of Tullos, and Donna Bruce and Buck of Tullos. The children he claimed by heart are nieces Kristy Goodwin and Two of Olla, Marie Hooter and Matt of Tullos, Nephews; Brian Gatlin and Tootie of Jena,Brad ,and Brandon. However his biggest joy and greatest pride were the "Kids"; Keylie,Westyn, and Talon. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 to 9pm at the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 10AM Thursday July 22,2010 with Bro. E.R. Johnson and Bro. John Norwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wright cemetery at Sikes, LA. Pallbearers honoring Calvin are John Paylor, Brandon Bruce, Buck Bruce, Henry Sootoo, Two Williams, and Zach Cox.
