Obituary of Freddie Welch

Funeral services for Mrs. Freddie Lee Welch, age 65 of Olla, will be held at 4 PM Monday, August 2, 2010 from the sanctuary of Rosefield Baptist Church with Bro. Harrell "Bubba" Tucker and Bro. Rusty Cruse officiating. Interment will follow at Rosefield Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening at the church from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Welch was born in Caldwell Parish on January 6, 1945 to the union of Freddie and Myrtle Cassels McCormack and passed from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Freddie was a homemaker and member of Rosefield Baptist Church. She was a loving and giving person who helped any and everybody. The lights of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son; James D. Welch Jr., two brothers: David McCormack and Ricky McCormack, sister; Betty Crawford and two grandchildren: Brittany Welch and Guy Morrison. Survivors include her husband of 45 years; James Welch, Sr., three sons: Jimmy Welch and wife, Ann of Jena, Ronald Welch and wife, Kim of Rosefield and Gregory Welch and wife, Tina of Grayson, daughter; Belinda Varnell and husband, Mike of Rosefield, raised as sons: John Welch and wife, Belinda of Olla, Chris Welch of Urania, Brian Welch and wife, Johanna of Olla, sister; Ruby Beckley of Rosefield, nine grandchildren: Rebecca Welch, Jeremey Welch, Julia Woodburn, Danny Welch, Lyndsie Thompson, Dylan Welch, Mikayla Varnell, Tristan Varnell, Michael Varnell, Jr., three great-grandchildren: Anna Frisch, Harmony Thompson and Addison Woodburn, six extended grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to name. Pallbearers will be Tavis Frizzell, Todd Frizzell, James Beckley, Brian Welch, John Welch and Phil Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Damion Powell, Cleston Tomlinson, Amos Tomlinson, Michael Lyons and her remaining nephews.
