Obituary of Leatrice Benson

Funeral services for Leatrice Benson, 86, of Clarks, will be held 10 AM Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Leatrice was born July 21, 1924 to Alvin and Lucy Reitzell in Kelly, LA and she passed from this life on November 29, 2010 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She was a homemaker and she was a member of Clarks Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Hines Benson; her parents; four brothers: Bill, Pete, Homer, and Luther Reitzell; two sisters: Louise Crumley and Mary McCarver. She is survived by her son: Glynn Benson and his wife Kayleen of Clarks; one brother: Paul Reitzell of Arkansas; one sister: Bessie Crain of Winnsboro; two grandchildren: Monica E. Stuart and her husband James of Hebert; Eric V. Benson and his wife Crystal of Clarks; four great-grandchildren: Dallas Stuart, Reece Stuart, Eric D. Benson, and Lynzee Benson. Pallbearers will be Randy Benson, Jack McKeithen, Jr., Robert McKeithen, Gordon Ray McCarver, Bob Purvis, and Gregory Oden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Carter, Wayne Nelson, and Bob Crain.
