Obituary of Mathilda B. Guyon

Funeral services for Mathilda B. Guyon, age 80, of Lafayette, will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Lee Williams officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosefield Cemetery. Mathilda was born January 29, 1936 to the union of Justin and Emily Ballay in New Orleans and she passed from this life on May 27, 2016 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette. She was a homemaker and manager of Port Sulfur High School cafeteria for many years. She was a great, loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Alton Guyon; daughter: Angela Suzanne Guyon; her parents: Justin and Emily Ballay. She is survived by her son: Bill Guyon and Linda Cheek of Bush, LA; daughter: Denise Guyon Holland and her husband Fred of Youngsville, LA; sisters: Mary Parnell of Marrero, LA; Alice Martin of DeQuincy, La; Emily Gauthier of Pineville, LA; Justine Ballay of Mississippi; grandchildren: Jamey Hebert of Port Sulfur, LA; Zyra Guyon of Belle Chase, LA; Trisha Ancar of Bush, LA; Charlotte Lee of Youngsville, La; Brent Holland of Maurice, LA; Brandon Holland of Lafayette, LA; and Angela Holland of Youngsville, LA; nine great-grandchildren.
