Obituary of James Willard Meredith

Funeral services for James W. Meredith age 69, of Zachary, LA and formerly of Caldwell Parish, will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, July 3, 2016 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery at Grayson. James Willard Meredith was born on February 8, 1947 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents Pearlie James Meredith and Ona Lea Cain and passed from this life on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. James served his country in the military serving both in the United States Marine Corp and the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters: Diane Rodriguez and Pearlie Catherine Meredith. Left to cherish his memory his three sons: James Meredith and wife, Jenele of Zachary, Jonathan Meredith and wife, Racheal of Tunica, and Scott Meredith of Zachary; his brothers: Bobby Meredith of Montgomery, Ronnie Meredith of Monroe; his sisters: Sharon Meredith of Monroe and Dorothy Greer of Winnfield; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
