Obituary of Orval Ray Poole

Funeral services for Orval Ray Poole age 85 of Clarks will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday July 5, 2016 from the Riser Funeral chapel in Columbia. Visitation will be on Monday July 4, 2016 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Rosefield Cemetery, Rosefield, LA. Orval Ray Poole was born on February 20, 1931 at Enterprise, LA to the union of his parents, Ezra Poole and Eunice McVay Poole and he passed from this life on Sunday July 3, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son: Ronnie Poole and by his stepson Charlie Mac Kyle, and by his two grandsons: Dylan Poole and Bobby Ray Harlow. He was the last remaining member of his family having been preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita Price and Johnnie Dale Moore and by two brothers: Clayton Poole and Malcomb Poole. Orval served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and retired as a Game Warden with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. He was a member of the New Ouachita Baptist Church at Enterprise. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Ellen Poole of Clarks, his daughter Lorrie Ellerbe and husband Keith of Grayson, his daughter Ellen Ann Brown of Longview, Texas and his son: Benny Kyle Poole of West Virginia; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Headrick, Charles Poole, Shane Nugent, Norris Price, Nathan Ray Roark, Glen McCormack, Earnie Sandidge, Sr. and Matt Moore.
