Obituary of Betty McGuire Williams
Betty Williams, 75 years of age, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 following complicated illness at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, 1/27/2017 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 7025 Hwy 126 West, Grayson, LA (4 miles west of Grayson). Bro. Shane Duke will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family Night / Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, 1/26/2017 at Riser & Son Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia, LA.
Betty was born June 17, 1941 in Columbia, LA to James Edward McGuire and Eleanor Dora "Janie" (Kelley) McGuire. She attended Grayson High School through 1960. On November 15, 1963 she married to Archie Lloyd Williams, her loving and caring husband of 51 years. She was a hardworking mother of four children; grandmother of 8 grandchildren; & great grandmother of 5 great grandchildren. Betty also worked 30+ years in the Caldwell Parish School System as a Secretary. She supported the schools and many students at Union Central Elementary during her time as a secretary. She was a long time member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a loving mother who left a legacy in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s hearts. She loved sewing, spending time with her family, and traveling short getaway trips in her RV.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Christie Ellis and her husband, Bobby of West Monroe, LA; Tammy Genusa and her husband, Steve of Flint, TX; Jill Cooley and her husband, Dusty of Grayson, LA; son, Steve Williams and his wife, Donna of Sherman, TX; grandchildren: Hannah McCarty and her husband, Shelby, Hillary Stokes and her husband, Joe, Nathan Genusa, Maria Genusa, Dakota Cooley, Caleb Cooley, Monica Little and her husband, Brian; great grandchildren Jonah McCarty, Myla McCarty, Eva McCarty, Caitlin Little, and Colton Little. She has two surviving sisters Mary McClanahan and her husband, Jon of Dallas, TX; Nancy Douglas and her husband, Jed of Asheville, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Benny McGuire, and sister, Dorothy Franklin.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Genusa, Benjamin Adams, Terry Cooley, Dusty Cooley, Shelby McCarty, and Joe Stokes.
