Obituary of Cleven "Vince" Vinson

Funeral services for Cleven “Vince” Vinson, age 85, of Olla will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Scotty McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Rosefield Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Cleven was born September 2, 1931 to the union of Rudolph and Callie Rider Vinson in Bay Minette, AL and he passed from this life in March 4, 2017 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was in the Army for 8 years having served in the Korean Conflict. He was an electrician and an avid woodworker. He loved fishing with his brother Glen. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: D.J. Vinson, Glen Vinson, and Bo Vinson; sisters: Vonnie Brown and Doris Perkins; infant sister: Thelma Vinson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Genell Vinson of Olla; daughter: Tonya Prudhomme and her husband Gavin of Olla; sister: Shi Ann Meaher and her husband Albert of Saraland, AL; grandchildren: Ronnie “Jed” Laird, III of Pineville, Allison Prudhomme of Monroe, and Ethan Prudhomme of Monroe; great-grandchild: Conner Reese Laird. Pallbearers will be the Honor Guard of Jena.
