Obituary of W.H. "Bill" Steele, Jr.

Funeral services for William Harry Steele, Jr., age 86 of Columbia will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 23, 2017 from the sanctuary of Palestine Baptist Church with Bro. Hudey Beaubouef officiating. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 6 PM until time of services on Thursday at 10 AM. Mr. Steele was born on December 12, 1930 in Caldwell Parish, LA to the union of Williams H. Steele, Sr. and Cybil Coates Steele and passed from this life on Monday, March 20, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. William retired from the US Air Force then worked as a pharmacy tech until retiring again. He enjoyed TV game shows, Poker, especially, Texas Hold 'Em and any game in general. He was a man who loved his family, friends and life itself. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret Fairman Steele two children: Larry Martin Steele and Karen Steele and brother, Charles Steele. Those left to cherish his memory are his five sons: Dusty Steele wife, Janice of Columbia, Gary Steele of Columbia, Eddie Steele wife, Pam of West Monroe, Frank Steele wife, Loretta of Columbia Jim Steele wife, Tina of Columbia; five daughters: Dianne McCready husband, James of Shreveport, Cheryl Ramsey husband, James of AR, Beverley Steele of Columbia, Margaret Millien husband, Steve of Columbia and Ruth Wills husband, Dennis of West Monroe; step-daughter, Julie Lassiter Cappo of Farmerville; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and best friends: Vince Danna and Arnold Mann. Pallbearers will be Corey Millien, Larry Millien, Micheal Steele, Jeff Hatten, Jonathan Osbon, Jacob Brooks, Jesse James Steele and Nakota Steele. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug George, Vince Danna, Arnold Mann and Dusty Wayne Steele, Jr.
