Obituary of Edward Crain

Funeral services for Edward Crain, age 82, of Grayson, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Cemetery in Swampers. Visitation will be friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Ed was born November 13, 1934 to Thomas Crain and Margie Williams Duchesne in Fort Necessity and he passed from this life on March 23, 2017 at Plantation Manor in Winnsboro. He fought a tough battle. Ed worked as first mate for ADM for 19 years. He loved his kids, horses, foxhounds, and mowing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Earl Crain; sister: Faye Varnell. He is survived by his wife: Betty Crain of Grayson; two sons: Ricky Crain and his wife Amy of Grayson; Tommy Crain and his wife Juanita of Grayson; four daughters: Debra Oliveaux and her husband Malcolm of Grayson; Jackie Thomas and her husband Steve of West Monroe; Jeannie Crain of West Monroe; Melissa Sones and her husband Phillip of Grayson; two sisters: Elsie Strickland and her husband Robert of Simi Valley, CA; Marie Hodges of Simi Valley, CA; Numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great grandkids. Pallbearers will be Stevie Houston, Mitch Crain, Ryan Garlington, Phillip Sones, Greg Porter, and Freddy Mercer.
