Obituary of William H. Coleman

Funeral services for William H. Coleman, age 88 of Olla, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Willie Cripps officiating. Interment will follow at Wilbanks Cemetery in Summerville. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. William Hill Coleman was born March 17, 1929 in Sicily Island to the union of his parents, John and Ada Punchard Coleman and passed from this life on March 29, 2017 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was a devoted husband, a good daddy and lovely father. He was a strong, kind man who lived for the Lord. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters: Geneva Lou Collins, Audrey Jewel Coleman Long and Mary Elaine Coleman, two grandchildren: Cherie Coleman and Milton Long, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lucy Jewel Coleman; son, Richard Coleman and wife, Sharlene of Olla; daughter, Dwana Faye Girlinghouse and husband, Jake of Jena; brothers: Gilbert Coleman, Charles Coleman and Roy Coleman; sister, Irene Cotton; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Justin Coleman, Travis Coleman, Jock Girlinghouse, Willie Long, Scotty Long and Joseph Long.
