Obituary of Genae Hyde Butler

Graveside services for Jewel Genae Hyde Butler, age 93 of Grayson, will be held at 10 AM Friday, April 21, 2017 at Winnfield City Cemetery, Winnfield, LA with Rev. Rick Crandell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia from 4 PM to 6 PM. Mrs. Butler was born on May 4, 1923 in Winnfield, LA to the union of her parents, Thomas and Isla McMann Hyde and passed from this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Specialty Extended Care Hospital in Monroe, LA. Genae was a devoted member of Grayson Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse having gone through nursing school at St. Francis Hospital. Her hobbies included hunting and fishing. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, whom she was married to for 69 years prior to his passing, I.H. “Bucky” Butler; her parents; granddaughter, Courtney Butler and two brothers, Thomas Hyde and Vernon Hyde. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Butler and wife, Beth; granddaughter, Blair Moser and husband, Dale; great-grandson, Brady Moser; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and numerous friends.
