Obituary of Kennith Mason McGuffee
Funeral services for Kennith Mason McGuffee, 65 of Urania will be held 2:00 Friday, April 28, 2017 from the sanctuary of Pinehill Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Smith and Bro. Cory Fowler officiating. Interment with full military honors will conclude at the Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Pinehill Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Kennith Mason McGuffee was born on March 28,1952 at Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Oma Cary McGuffee and Earlean Thompson McGuffee and he passed from this life on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at his residence in Urania following an extended illness. Mr. McGuffee served his country in the United States Navy in Vietnam having fulfilled six tours of service, some of which was on the USS Enterprise. He was preceded in death by his parents. Prior to his illness he was Senior Surveyor with Lloyds Register Energy-Drilling. Kennith was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family and fellowship with the members of his church.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his beloved wife, Frances McGuffee of Urania; two daughters: Kristi McGuffee Larson and husband, Del of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Heather McGuffee Daunis and husband, Geoffrey of Gonzales, LA; two brothers: Jimmy McGuffee and wife, Glenda of Enterprise and Keith McGuffee and wife, Marilyn of Jena; sister, Dahnell Bell and husband, Greg of Alexandria; and his grandchildren: Christopher Nealy, Colby Mason Nealy, Tyler Dalton Nealy, Caitlyn Nicole McGuffee, Lily-Ann Hope McGuffee, Hagan James Nealy, Jonah Fletcher Nealy, Zachary Evans Daunis, Laynie Mae Daunis, Leo Larson and one great-grandson, Conor Mason Nealy and a host of nieces and nephews including a very special neice Misty McGuffee King.
Serving as pallbearers will be Deacons of the Pinehill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Foundation or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
