Obituary of Emory "Slim" Joyner
Funeral services for Emory “Slim” Joyner, age 38, of Eros, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday June 2, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Larry Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at McGee-Mt. Rose Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM into 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Emory was born May 21, 1979 to Steve Joyner and Christine Redlund Duke in Minden and he passed from this life on May 29, 2017 at his residence in Eros.
He worked as a diesel mechanic for Ruston Tractor. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and hike.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years: Victoria Joyner of Eros; children: Nathan, Madison, and Cameron Joyner all of Choudrant; father: Steve Joyner and his wife Diana of Grayson; mother: Christine Duke of Dubach; brothers: Caleb Joyner and Jacob Duke of Dubach; sisters: Naomi Joyner of Choudrant; Jennifer Slaton and her husband Brad of Choudrant; grandfather: Huey Joyner of Grayson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colby McManus, Danny Harris, Heath Ramsey, Cody Joyner, Paul David McCarty, and Wade Weems.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Haynes, Jamie Lewis, Hunter Weems, and Adam Simons.
