Obituary of Sheila Dye Spangler

Funeral services for Sheila Dye Spangler, age 65, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 11, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Danny McIlveene officiating. Rocky Cain will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sheila was born August 22, 1951 to the union of Emmett and Marie Dye in Monroe. She was raised by her great uncle, Perry L. Sims and her great aunt, Annie K. Sims. She passed from this life on June 8, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

She was a retired postal worker. She loved to cook and collect cookbooks. She was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John and Eddie Ray Dye; sister: Bobbie June Dye; great uncle; great aunt.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Loyd Spangler of Columbia; son: Wilmer Spangler and his wife Casey of Columbia; daughter: Jessica Martinez and her husband Johnny of Columbia; sister: Glenda Sue Smith and her husband Gary of West Monroe; grandchildren: Gabriella Martinez, Gesslyn Martinez, and Anna Claire Graham; brothers-in-law: Willam Spangler and his wife Violet; Ellis Spangler and his wife Linda; sisters-in-law: Vernadie Varnell and Glenda Mae Dye; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Varnell, Marty Spangler, Bill Spangler, Josh Smith, D.J. Leija, and Alan Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Varnell, William Spangler, Ellis Spangler, Rocky Cain, and Mike Nugent.
