Obituary of Jimmy Lamar Martin, JR

Funeral services for Jimmy Lamar Martin, Jr. 61 of Kelly will be held 1:00 PM Sunday June 18, 2017 from the sanctuary of Outreach Baptist Church with Bro. C.R. Martin and Brandon Waggoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery east of Kelly under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia,. Visitation will be on Saturday June 17, 2017 at the church from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Jimmy Lamar Martin, Jr. was born on March 3, 1956 at Monroe, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Jimmy Lamar Martin, Sr. and Mary Ann Grant Martin. He passed from this life into eternity on June 15, 2017 suddenly at his residence in Kelly. He was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Outreach Baptist Church and always provided all the children gum on Sundays. The children loved him immensely. Lamar loved all types of sports and it made no difference who was playing, locally he was there to support family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his son: Justin Martin and wife Katie of Baton Rouge, his mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Martin of Kelly; two grandsons: Cameron and Jacob Martin; his brother: C.R. Martin and wife Stephanie of Columbia; his niece: Jamie Knox of Columbia and two great nieces: Breanna Knox and Macy Knox, and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bline Exline, Roy Withers, Mark Hatten, Ernest Guerrero, Kenny Dannehl, Jonathan McClanahan, Ricky Ratcliff and Donnie Wallace. Honorary pallbearers include Jason Peppers, Jodie Thompson and Junior Carr .
