Obituary of Bobby Wayne Stevens

Funeral services for Bobby Wayne Stevens 67 of Columbia will be held 10:00 AM Saturday July 29, 2017 from the sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wayne Hendrixson and Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Friday July 28, 2017 at the church from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Bobby Wayne Stevens was born on October 22, 1950 at Olla, LA to the union of his parents John Lafette "Shorty" Stevens and Betty Sue Cruse Stevens, and he passed from this life on July 26, 2017 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following a sudden illness. Bobby Wayne was a master mechanic and it was something that he loved to do. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers Marvin Stevens Sr. and Richard Stevens Sr. 

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his beloved wife: Wanda Baum Stevens of Columbia; his daughter: Betty Stevens Strange and husband Daniel of Columbia; his last remaining brother Jackie Stevens of Olla, LA; two grandchildren: Austin Strange and Kristin Strange ; a special grandson, Branson Ingram, and a step-granddaughter, Haley McMahan; his nephews: Marvin L. Stevens, Jr., and Richard Stevens, Jr., and numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Stevens, Samuel Jones, Clint Roy Carter, Mark Ingram, Sid Harris and Richard Stevens, Jr. Honorary palllbearers will be Marvin Stevens, Jr. and Reggie Harris.
