Obituary of Myrtis Lynn McDonald Meadors

Funeral services for Myrtis Lynn McDonald Meadors, age 79, of Grayson, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Myrtis was born April 29, 1938 to the union of Charlie and Lottie Brown McDonald in Hebert and she passed from this life on August 5, 2017 at her residence.

She was a nurse for 35 years at local and surrounding hospitals. She was also an EMT. She was an avid canasta player, gardener, and loved flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Andrew J. Meadors; second husband: Charles J. Murphy; daughter: Marjorie Lynn Meadors Miller; brothers: Charles and Phillip McDonald; sisters: Ouida Pyle, Murlene Clark, and Francis Blackwell.

She is survived by her son: Andy Meadors and his wife Joyce of Fayatteville, AR; daughters: Cindy Talbert and her husband James of Columbia; Sarah Meadors of Grayson; step son: Charles Eddie Murphy, Jr. and wife Karen of Hebert; grandchildren: Jimmy, Crystal, Mandy, Bridgette, Jamie, and Holly; Uncle: Otis Brown and his wife Bonnie; 10 great-grandchildren.
