Obituary of Dorothy Dell Sanders

Funeral services for Dorothy Dell Sanders 79 of Monroe will be held 10:00 AM Saturday August 19, 2017 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Friday August 18, 2017 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Dorothy Dell Sanders was born on April 9, 1938 to the union of Charlie Oliveaux and Jenny Hebert Oliveaux, and she passed from this life on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Johnny Robert “Bud” Sanders, her son: Robert Eugene Sanders; and by three sisters and five brothers. She was a loving wife, mother, grand mother and great grand mother.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her two daughters: Idell Lawrence and Brenda Kay Moncreif both of Monroe; her grandchildren: Angela Lawrence,Eddie James, Jason Cannon,Kevin Lawrence and Jimmy Joe Poole; and three great grandchildren: Caleb Poole, Chance Poole and Haley Lawrence; and her sister: Debbie Young Hammett. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Angela Lawrence, Hailey Lawrence, Caleb Poole, Chance Poole, Jimmy Joe Poole, Jason Cannon and Gary Oliveaux. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Lawrence and Eddie James.
