Obituary of Mary Lou Neal Etheridge

Funeral services for Mary Lou Neal Etheridge, age 67 will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, Louisiana with Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating.  Interment will follow at Pinehill Cemetery, Olla. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, August 22 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Lou Neal Etheridge passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Heritage Manor West Nursing Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born in the Hardtner Medical Clinic in Urania, LA on March 4, 1950 to Marie (Ford) Neal and Felder F. Neal. Mary Lou was a 1968 graduate of LaSalle High School in Olla, LA. She was a longtime employee of the Urania and Olla Banks. Mary Lou loved all her Facebook friends and she especially enjoyed staying up late and listening to music videos on Facebook with her friends. Sometimes she called her sister or friends late at night and talked for hours. She also loved to cook and enjoyed cooking for her close friends, Carol, Becky and Shirley. She also loved going to her sister's house on holidays where she could pitch in and help cook a big holiday feast. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mackey Etheridge; parents, Felder Neal and Marie Dunn and one brother, Chris Neal.

She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Glen Finley of Oak Ridge and Denny Durand Finley of Sibley; three grandsons: Jeffery Finley, Jr. of Jonesboro and Hayden and Landon Finley of Sibley; one great-granddaughter, River Grace Finley of Jonesboro; one sister, Frances Neal Chandler of Shreveport, numerous nieces and nephews,  and her little Chorkie dog, Huni, who she loved very much. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Finley, Jeffrey Finley, Jr., Joey Jeter, Jonathan Lincecum, Danny Laffoon and Tim Swinnea. Honorary pallbearer will be Landon Finley.
