Obituary of Evelyn Mayes Brockner

A rosary service for Evelyn M. Brockner age 92 of Olla will be held 1:00 PM Thursday August 24, 2017 from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Evelyn Mayes Brockner was born at Monroe, LA to the union of her parents, Clay Mayes and Camille Volentine Mayes and she passed from this life on August 21, 2017 at the Hardtner Medical Center in Olla. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Daniel William Brockner and by her twin brother, Edwyn Clay Mayes. Mrs. Brockner was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Olla. Mrs.Brockner was a graduate of Kelly High School in Kelly, LA and attended both LA Tech University and University of Louisiana at Monroe. Together with her husband she helped manage Brockner Oil and Gas and Brockner Properties LLC.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her son: Daniel Clay Brockner (Alice) of Winnfield and her daughter: Brenda Evelyn Brockner of Natchitoches, and her granddaughter: Megan Ann Brockner Maxwell (Eric) of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials should be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1225 Ash Street Olla , LA 71465 and the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at P.O. Box 1412, Winnfield, LA 71483.
