Obituary of Betty J. Girod

Funeral services for Betty J. Girod, age 86, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Kelly. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Betty was born to the union of Ezzie and Annie Davis Girod on  January 10, 1931 in Port Arthur , TX and she passed from this life on September 14, 2017 at St. Francis Cabrini in Alexandria.

She was a retired LPN for Columbia Developmental Center. She loved to shop and drink her coca cola. She loved her Maltese, Marlee. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Gwen Girod; father of her children: Orval Roberts.

She is survived by her sons: David Roberts and his wife Jennifer of Dover, TN; Ronald Roberts and his wife Dawn of Austin, AR; Jerry Roberts and his wife Lori of West Monroe; Kim Roberts and his wife Sharon of West Monroe; daughter: Susan Johnston and her husband Joe of West Monroe; brother: Merton Girod of Winnsboro; twenty one grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Jerryd Roberts, Spencer Roberts, Justin Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Tyler Duff, and Lane Duff.
