Obituary of Eris "Bettye" Boggan

Funeral services for Eris “Bettye” Boggan, age 93 of Grayson will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Bettye was born on July 23, 1924 in Bussey, Arkansas to the union of Jessie James Burrow and Geneva Spencer Burrow, and passed from this life on October 3, 2017 at University Healthcare Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. She loved to work in her garden and flower beds. She took pride in her flower beds. Bettye was a caring, loving person who enjoyed helping others, especially those in her church family at Grayson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three step-sons.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Jasper Wayne Boggan, Jr. of Grayson; son, Charles Hughes and spouse, Bunny of Buckeye, AZ; daughters: Mildred Tedrow of San Antonio, TX and Julia Boggan Smith and spouse, Teresa of West Monroe, LA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family: James, Melissa, April and Adam Palmer, Mary Fuller and Katie Laffoon Jones, who was there every day providing excellent care, loving kindness and friendship. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Wes Cruse, Adam Palmer, Bill Tedrow, Randy Tedrow, Ryan Tedrow and Will Wood.
