Obituary of Thomas H Tingle

Funeral services for Thomas H. Tingle age 93 of Holum, LA will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday October 11, 2017 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Duke and Bro. Tommy Prince officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Tuesday September 10, 2017 at the Riser & Son Funeral chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Thomas H. Tingle was born on April 15, 1924 at Holum, Louisiana to the union of his parents Thomas Amanuel Tingle and Vera Priscilla Humphreys Tingle and he passed from this life on October 8, 2017 at the Citizens Medical center in Columbia, Known as T.H. to all his family and friends he was a Veteran of World War II having served as a clean up man in the Artillery Division. He was extremely proud of his service in World War II. He became a riverboat captain with Canal Barge and retired after thirty years and ten months of service. Following his retirement he was a cattleman, rancher and farmer. He was highly respected in the Caldwell Parish community as a gentleman, a friend and just an all around good man. He was a member and deacon of Holum Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister Vera Tingle and two brothers Royce Tingle and Wilkins Tingle. Left to charish a lifetime of precious memories is his wife of fifty three years Agnes Tingle of Holum; his daughter: Deana Tingle of Holum; and his sister Mrs. Evelyn Tarver of Monroe. He also leaves behind a legacy of goodness, peace and goodwill to all of his family, friends and his community.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Tingle, Gregg Tingle, Charles Henry Tarver, John Bradley, Steve Canterberry, Melvin Campbell, Caleb Duke, and Mark Esters. Honorary pallbearers include Ricky Fussell, Dan Smith, and Charlie Wyant.

In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Houlm Baptist Church,Grayson, LA.
