Obituary of Billy Ruth Warner Elliott
Funeral services for Billy Ruth Warner Elliott, age 86 of Grayson will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 2017 from the sanctuary of Holum Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Goodman and Bro. Tommy Prince officiating. Interment will follow in the Holum Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Elliott family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday at the Holum Baptist Church from 1 PM until time of service.
Billy Ruth Warner Elliott was born on January 13, 1931 to the union of her parents, George Marvin Warner and Charlotte Vashti Volentine Warner and she passed from this life on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Billy Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She had the wonderful ability to transform a house into a home. In her early years she was an employee of Bell Telephone Company. Gardening and her flower gardens were a passion of hers along with cooking. She was a wonderful seamstress as well. Her husband, Robert Vaughn Elliott retired with the United States Army and she followed and supported him wherever they were sent and wherever he served. He preceded her in death along with her parents and four siblings. She was the last remaining member of her family. She was an active member of Holum Baptist Church as long as her health allowed.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her sons: Mike Elliott and wife, Delores of Abilene, Texas and Robert Glenn Elliott of Oakdale; her daughter, Phyllis Elliott of Grayson; two grandchildren: Rena Elliott Defoore and husband, Shane of Abilene and Jeremy Elliott and wife, Shellie also of Abilene; and six great-grandchildren: Garrett, Maylyn, Wyatt, Jakob, Dillon and Tynleigh.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrel Campbell, Berl Braddock, Dennis Warner, Warren Lutrick, Steve Joyner and Danny Warner.
