Obituary of Terry Joe Allen

Memorial services for Terry Joe Allen, age 64 of Columbia, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Columbia, LA with Rev. Pamela Roy and Rev. Stephen Fife officiating. The family will receive friends afterward in the church fellowship hall.

Terry Joe Allen was born January 4, 1953 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Kirby and Nan Allen of Clarks, LA and passed away December 5, 2017 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Terry was preceded in death by his father. 

After graduating from Caldwell Parish High School, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 4 years. He later enlisted in the Air Force Reserves and worked as a machinist at Barksdale Air Force Base until retirement. Terry was an avid hunter, referee for high school football games in north Louisiana, and co-owner of Old Bethel Timber Company.  

Terry was a completely devoted, loving husband and caregiver to his wife, Debra Kitchens Allen of Columbia, who is left to cherish his memory. Other survivors include his mother, Nan Allen of Clarks; his daughter, Kellie Elizabeth (Liza) Thomason and husband, Shannon of Sidney, AR; son, Nathan Gerany of Chicago, IL; granddaughters Harley, Maura, Tayler and grandson Thomason due in February; siblings: Ruby Carnahan and husband, JR of Grayson, LA; Kirby Allen and wife, Dianne of Natchez, MS; Beth Eden and husband, Richard of Oklahoma City, OK; Jim Bill Allen of Clarks, LA; Eugene Allen and wife, Sheri of Columbia, LA; Robert Allen and wife, Ruby of Jena, LA; Sonja Allen of Clarks, LA and Chris Allen and wife, Holly of Tullos, LA. Also his mother-in-law, Jo Anne Kitchens of Columbia, LA; brothers-in-law:James Kitchens and wife, Susie of Marble Falls, TX, Thomas Kitchens of Memphis, TN and Wesley Kitchens of Franklinton, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.
