Obituary of Phillip "Babo" Malcomb

Funeral services for Phillip “Babo” Malcomb age 62, of West Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Neal Heath,Flukey Braddock, and Leon Heath officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Babo was born June 17, 1955 to Earl and Lorene Malcomb in Dewitt, AR and he passed from this life on December 25, 2017 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

He was a truck driver having retired from Mule Team Express. He loved traveling and woodworking. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking, laughing, and joking. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Franklin Malcomb; Infant Everett Lee Malcomb; niece: Ava Grace Crockett; nephew: Tod Allbritton; brother-in-laws: Doug Crockett and Ralph Whitaker; sister-in-law: Laverne Malcomb.

He is survived by his wife of 17 and a half years: Peggy Malcomb and daughter, Claire and husband Chris Wyles and her mother Sylvia; children: Crystal Fant, Jason Wood(Trudy), Kay Cosby, Lisa Cosby, and Tim Cosby;  brothers: Bobby Malcomb (Janet); Larry Malcomb and his significant other Diana Williams; sister: Bonnie Crocket; grandchildren: Cameron Wyles, Alivia Wyles, Zack Wood, Nick Wood (Ashley), Sam Wood, Hailey Bryan (Howard), Taylor Fant, and Hunter Fant; great-grandchildren: Ashlynn and Anderson Fant; sisters –in-law: Donna Whitaker, Karen Heath and her husband Neal; Sandy McClung, and Janet McClung; brother-in-law: Mike McClung (Lisette); a host of nieces and nephews. special friends: Billy Wayne Fitzgerald and his wife Ann and Jim Bill Allen.

Pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Lendal Taylor, John Hicks, Tad Berryman, Jimmy Hawsey, and Stephen Jarrett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his co- workers from Mule Team Express.
