Obituary of Donald Rodgers

Funeral services for Donald Rodgers, age 75, of West Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. C.R. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery west of Columbia. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Donald was born February 5, 1942 to the union of Warren and Hazell Talbert Rodgers in Columbia and he passed from this life on January 3, 2018 at his residence in West Monroe.

He retired from Safeway as a meat cutter. He loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: James Rodgers, Bruce Rodgers, and Dewayne Rodgers; sister: Sherlene Herrington.

Survivors include his sons: Ralph Rodgers, Robbie Rodgers, and Perry Rodgers; brother: Drexel Rodgers and his wife, Pat; nephews: Jeffrey Rodgers, Kenny Rodgers and his wife, Tina, Charles Poole and his wife, Debbie, Gary Poole, Tommy Poole, and Jerry Rodgers; nieces: Diane Childress and her husband, Tony, Donna Sue Walker and her husband, Kenny, Barbara, Janice, and Brenda; several great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles Poole, Gary Poole, Tony Childress, Kenny Rodgers, Joey Kottenbrook, and Mark Alford.
