Obituary of Rev.Bobby Cruse

Funeral services for Rev. Bobby Wayne Cruse, age 64, of Center Point, LA, and formerly of Olla will be held 10 am Saturday January 22, 2011 from the sanctuary of Hopewell Baptist Church at Center Point, with Rev's: Edward Smith, Denny Braswell, and Warren Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery at Olla, with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation for "Brother Bobby" as he was affectionately known to everyone will begin on Thursday Jan. 20 at the Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 2pm until 9pm, and resume on Friday Jan. 21 at the Hopewell Baptist Church, where he was presently pastoring , from 11 am until 9pm, and on Saturday from 8 am until time of service. Bobby Wayne Audis Cruse was born on September 5, 1947 at Urania, LA to the union of his parents, the late Audis Cruse and Edna Mae Poe Cruse. He passed from this life on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Bobby was a former Chief of Police for the Town of Olla, where he served for numerous terms prior to being called into the ministry of the Lord. He served in pastorate for Banks Springs Baptist Church in Columbia, Ridgecrest Baptist Church at Ridgecrest, and was presently serving at Hopewell Baptist Church at Center Point. Bro. Bobby's amazing gift was that of being a pastor to the congregation's he served. He had an amazing ministry that in the eyes of humanity was cut way to short upon this earth. To those he served he will never ever be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter Melissa Louise Cruse, his sister: Elaine Sullivan and his brother: Clifford Audis Cruse. Survivors include: His wife: Louise Baum Cruse of Center Point. His daughters: Letitia Le Ann Kepper and husband Mike of Lafayette; and Ashley Nicole Waguespack of Center Point. His beloved grand daughter's: Haley Kepper, Annie Ruth Braswell, and Jessie Lynn Braswell. Three Sisters: Vonnie Douglas and husband Jerry of Urania, Debbie Johnson and husband Lamar of Olla, and Dorothy Wages and husband Jim of Leesville. Serving as pallbearers will be: Tommy Barron, Richard Luneau, Shane DeVille, James Poole, Preston Strange, Richie Barrett, Merl Long, and Jason Lambing. Honorary pallbearers include: Elzie Ray Bryant ,Forest Cook, and Jamie Chaisson.
