Obituary of Dorcus Meredith Smith

Graveside funeral Services for Dorcus Meredith Smith will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, Louisiana with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 9 -11 AM at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia.

Dorcus was born May 18, 1947 in Monroe, Louisiana to the union of her parents, John and Edna (Youngblood) Meredith and she passed from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2017 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia. She was a member of Clarks Baptist Church. Dorcus was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buddy Smith and her sister-in-law, Gayle Perot Meredith.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers: John Ellis Meredith and James Richard Meredith, her sister, Abigail Strange, three nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces and six great-nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Peyton Thomas Foy, James Roy Meredith, Justin Cole Meredith, Kelby Allen Patten, Rickey Wayne Stowe and James Robert Terrell.
