Obituary of Lodusta Specht Holland

 

Lodusta Elizabeth Specht Holland died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 of causes incident to age, passing peacefully surrounded by her husband and family.

 

Dusty was born August 3, 1942, the daughter of George Specht and Lola Griffin Specht. She was a spirited child that loved to dance and loved her horse, Dimples.

 

She married James Holland June 3, 1961. They were sealed November 21, 1966 in the LDS Salt Lake City Utah Temple. They have twelve children. Dusty loved her family more than anything and she was always willing to sacrifice to provide for her children. Her greatest joy in life was in loving and supporting her grandchildren.

 

Dusty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Specht; son-in-law, Daniel Jordan; grandson, Jordon Keaton; and granddaughter, Randi Jordan.

 

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Holland; her brother, Melvin Specht; and her children: Lola Jordan, James (Jayne) Holland, Walter (Stephanie) Holland, Janice (Daniel) Hansen, Helen (Doug) ZImmerman, Kathryn (Ted) Simpson, George (Holly) Holland, Emily (Derek) Stephens, Melvin (Becky) Holland, Brian (Camille) Holland, Donald (Lisa) Holland, and Nancy (Anton) Jackson, 52 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 29, 2018 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with interment to follow at Rosefield Cemetery in Rosefield. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 28 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
