Obituary of Glenn Michael "Mickey" Cornwell
Funeral services for Glenn Michael “Mickey” Cornwell, age 74, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Eric Harriman officiating. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Kelly. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mickey was born September 23, 1943 to the union of Frank and Velda Cornwell in Monroe and he passed from this life on February 4, 2018 at his residence in Columbia.
He served his country for five years during the Vietnam era. He was retired from Justiss Oil Company and SW & B Construction Company. His special interests were fishing, bee keeping, family, and friends. His two favorite sports were football and Nascar. He was a very caring person that enjoyed being around happy people. He had a very soft heart for kids. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn of forty two years; his parents; foster parents: Lonnie and Pearl Pender; best friends: Vernon Clay and Garland “Jr“ Shipp.
He is survived by his sons: Garland Cornwell of Lake Charles; Lucas Cornwell and his wife Beth of Kentucky; Everett Cornwell of Columbia; daughter: Leann Williams and her husband Darren of Lafayette; grandchildren: Michael Cornwell, Hali Williams, Dylan Williams, Ashley Cornwell, Jace Cornwell, Kaden Cornwell, and Mickey Lee Cornwell; special friends: David Boyd, Dean Hart, and Ricky Whitlow.
Pallbearers will be Garland Cornwell, Lucas Cornwell, Everett Cornwell, Darren Williams, Dylan Williams, and T. G. Hendrix.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Boyd, Dean Hart, and Matt Andrus.
