Obituary of John Collinsworth Knight

Funeral services for John Collinsworth Knight, age 82 of Olla will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Rev. Greg Dunn and Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at the Chickasaw Cemetery west of Olla. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

John Collinsworth Knight was born on February 14, 1935 at Olla, LA to the union of his parents, George Washington Knight II and Nora Chrapp Manchester Knight and he passed from this life on February 5, 2018 at the Hardtner Medical Center in Olla following a brief illness. He was a member of the Chickasaw Free Methodist Church. John enjoyed gardening and he loved reading his Louis Lamour western books and having coffee on Sundays. John was preceded in death by his parents a son: Joel Knight,a sister, Georgia Lee Bass and two brothers: Oscar Knight and Jerry Knight.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bettie E. Knight of Olla; daughters: Betty Barton (Jerry) of Snellville, GA, Donna Sandler (Scott) of O'Fallon, MO and Norajean Knight (Scott) of Marksville; sons: Tony Dove of Florida and Dandy Dewayne Dove of Olla; sisters: Grace Dufour of NC and Juanita Massey of McKinney, TX; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be C. M. Exline, Mack Exline, William Exline, Shawn Guinn, Paul Wagoner, Jeremy Guinn and Jerry Barton. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Sandler, Scott Feazell, Jason Massey, Bill Exline, Frankie Exline and Karter Lowery.
