Obituary of Jacky DeFrance King

Funeral services for Jacky DeFrance King, age 84 of Olla will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Riser & Son Funeral chapel in Olla. Visitation will be on Saturday Feb. 10, 2018 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery west of Olla in Winn Parish.

Jacky D. King was born on May 31, 1933 in Winn Parish to the union of his parents, Samuel DeFrance King and Clara Lee Jenkins King and he passed from this life on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at the Jena Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness. Jacky served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jacky was a star baseball pitcher for Olla Standard High School in 1949 and at Lasalle High in 1951. Both of these years they were State Champions. He was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Gough King and his brother, Sammy Joe King.

Survivors include two brothers: Donald King and Jimmy King both of Olla and four nephews: Joey King, Jay King, James King and Darrell Young and one niece, Janelle Harlan.

Pallbearers include Joey King, Jay King, Robert Hamilton, Tony Franklin, Eddie Coolman and Michael Taylor
