Obituary of Mary Jane Davis George

Homegoing services to celebrate the life of Mary Jane Davis George will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 10 AM at Springhill Baptist Church, west of Kelly with Bro. Todd Whittington and Bro. Elvis Price officiating. Burial will follow in Roberts Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.

Mary Jane Davis George was born May 16, 1923 in Clarks, Louisiana and passed from this life on February 12, 2018 in Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Edgar George, her brother, Marshall Davis and her parents: Andrew Davis and Mary Annie McBroom Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Francine Hinton, Wayne and Joyce George and Gayland and Dorothy George; her grandchildren: Chris and Mary Beth Hinton, Kim Hinton, Amanda and Jason Williams, Rodney and Shelly George, Ryan George and Crystal Rials, Melissa Henry, Marla George and Janiece Adams; sixteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mary was a faithful Christian woman. She talked to God each day and didn't stop until her Alzheimer's caused her to forget how. She loved her family and wanted only the best for each one. That's what we do. Always honor your momma because too soon you'll be in our place. With heavy hearts we give her back to God, but we thank Him for giving us such a beautiful soul to share our lives with.
