Obituary of Sylvester Lane Whitten

Sylvester Lane Whitten, age 58 of Columbia, Louisiana was born December 10, 1959 to the union of his parents, Sylvester Hines Whitten and Lucy Maureen Newsom Whitten and passed away February 17, 2018 after losing his battle with cancer.  Sylvester was a logger and loved being in the logging woods.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dallas Whitten and his sister, Tina Smith.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Logan Whitten and fiancée, Stone Monnin; sisters: Lavada Smith, Fraley Whitten and Janie Young; a brother, Leo Smith; grandchildren: Lillian Nicole Whitten, Warren Cain Monnin and Jesse James Douglas; and the mother of his children, Lillian Diane Hollingshead.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be planned at a later date.
