Obituary of Huey Lonzo Joyner

Funeral services for Huey L. Joyner, age 87 of Grayson will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Flukie Braddock will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be held on Saturday as well beginning for friends at 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in the McGee Mt. Rose Cemetery at Grayson.

Huey Lonzo Joyner was born on November 10,1930 at Grayson, LA to the union of his parents, Marvin Emery Joyner and Elva Braddock Joyner and passed from this life on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Mr. Joyner was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Olla. He was a diesel mechanic for heavy equipment . He was an avid sportsman having loved fishing and hunting. He also loved gardening.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pauline, his parents, his son, Stewart Joyner, his grandson, Emory Joyner and two sisters Margie Welker and Marie Tarver. 

Left to cherish his memory are two sons: Steve Joyner and wife, Diana of Grayson and Sam Joyner and wife, Lisa of Ruston, seven grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Bruiser who he loved so much.

Pallbearers include Ray Braddock, Kim Simons, Jared Cruse, Brad Slaton, Steven Murray and Tommy Crain.
