Obituary of John Richard Walters

Funeral services for John Richard “J R “ Walters, 92 of Grayson, La will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 12, 2018 from the sanctuary of Grayson Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Friday May 11, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home located at 7131 Highway 165, Columbia, LA.

J.R. was born July 19, 1925 to the union of “Fount” and Lona Mae Palmer Walters. J.R. was a faithful and active member of the Grayson Baptist Church also serving as Deacon for 65 years; and was District Supervisor with the Louisiana State Department of Motor Vehicles for 33 years, He is preceded in death by his parents and older sister Awleen Walters, and is survived by : his precious wife: Viola Steen Walters;his sister, Carrie Dale Grant; two sons: Ronald B. Walters and wife Lynn of Webb City, MO; and Tony R. Walters and wife Susan of Grand Junction, Colorado; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
