Obituary of Glenda Josie Brown

Funeral services for Glenda J. Brown age 74 of Grayson will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 6, 2018 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Duke and Jeff Wyant officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown family plot in Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Friday July 6 from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Glenda Josie Brown was born on June 18, 1944 at Columbia, LA to the union of Harris Sheffield Brown and Mary Belle Sanders Brown and she passed from this life on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at the Christus St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center following an extended illness.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers W. P. “Nude” Brown, Robert Brown, Emmett Brown , Lyndal Brown and by her sister Margaret Shell. She was a lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish, a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, and a very selfless person always prefering to help with the needs of others. She was a retired employee of the Caldwell Parish Police Jury. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Glenda was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her sister Patricia Brown Looman of Grayson and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Close family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online registry/condolences: riserfuneralhomes.com
