Obituary of Ethel Taylor James

Funeral services for Ethel Mae James, 80 of Columbia, Louisiana will be held at 10 AM Saturday, July 7, 2018 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Shane Duke and Bro. Wayne James officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, July 6, from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

 

Ethel Mae Taylor James was born February 22, 1938 in Clarks, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Oine Reitzell Taylor and Clyde Thomas Taylor and she passed from this life on July 4, 2018 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. Ethel worked in the school cafeteria at Caldwell Parish High School until her retirement. She was a hard-worker and she loved to cook. Even after her retirement she cooked whenever she got the opportunity. She enjoyed canning, listening to her wind chimes and collecting roosters. She was a member of Holum Baptist Church. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ed James; her sister, Betty Pardue and her husband, Bob; her brother, Wilbur Taylor and her sister-in-law, Pat Taylor.

 

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Jessie "Buddy" James; daughter, Vicky Denison and husband, Denny; brothers: Charles Taylor and Bill Taylor and wife, Mary and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be Wesley Adams, Layton Adams, Cooter Hatten, Eddie James, Lane James and David Shirley.
