Obituary of Johnny Leon Hatten
Graveside funeral services for Johnny L. Hatten, Sr., age 65 of Grayson will be held 3:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Bro. Steven Hatten will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at the cemetery from 2:30 PM until time of service.
Johnny Leon Hatten was born into a large family on June 1, 1953 to the union of his beloved parents, Alvin Edward “Bud” Hatten and Dorothy Lee Price Hatten and he passed from this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the University Healthcare Center in Monroe following an extended illness.
Johnny was one of eleven children born to his parents. He is preceded in death by his parents and by four brothers: Edward Lee Hatten, Carl Ray Hatten, Joe Luther Hatten and James A. Hatten. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kay Hatten Litton. Johnny was a member of Local Union IBEW 716 in Houston where he worked as an electrician. Johnny loved his family and loved his Lord. Johnny enjoyed a full life working as an electrician in the Houston, Pasadena, Texas area as well as Louisiana. To know Johnny was to love him and he will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife of twenty-eight years: Toni Hatten of Pasadena, Texas; his sons: Johnny Hatten, Jr and Devon Hatten both of Clarks, Ronnie Reitz of Houston and Jonathan Hatten of Liberty, Texas; his brother: Craig Hatten of Columbia; his sisters: Bonnie Hatten of Grayson, Cindy McKee, Jan Parmer, and Sandy Brown all of Columbia; and five precious grandchildren who were the apple of his eye.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Mims, Steven Hatten, Jimmy May, Craig Hatten and Jeff McKee.
