Obituary of Kirk B. Stamper

Memorial serivices for Mr. Kirk B. Stamper will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Brownville Baptist Church, 156 Brownville Church Rd., Columbia, Louisiana. Inurnment will follow at Brownville Cemetery.

Mr. Kirk Britton Stamper was born on July 6, 1956 to the late Mr. Willie (Bill) Napoleon and Mrs. Willie Esther Stamper.

Kirk received his formal education through the Caldwell Parish school system. He went on to attend Paul Quinn University and while there decided to join the United States Army. While in the United States Army, his fondest travels were to Germany. He loved both their food and their people.

Kirk was employed in Dallas Texas for many years in Security Management and later became a Prison Officer at a local prison in Caldwell Parish. He was employed at the Caldwell Parish Detention Center. Thereafter, he transferred to the Richwood Correctional Center where he retired in 2010.

Kirk was known to most as being very outgoing and having a very jovial personality.

His siblings will always remember the practical jokes he played on them and there were many! He was also the kindest and most loving man to have around. His kindred heart and love of people will be missed by all.

Kirk departed his life on Friday, July 27, 2018.  He was preceded in death by both his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Willie N. Stamper.  He is survived by four sisters namely Faye Stamper Watkins (Scott), Cheryl Stamper Gross, Vanessa Stamper Turner (Bruce) and Gwenda Stamper Anderson (Vincent).  He also has three brothers namely, Henry James Stamper(Eva), Kendall Woodfin, and Nehru Stamper(Demetra). He had three children namely Shontae Wade, Talissha Johnson and Kory Stamper. He had three grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind nieces: Jesina Gross, Cherlena Gross, Adrielle Turner, Asia Anderson and Alexia Wooten, nephews: Jesse Gross, Jr., Adam Turner and Klisby Robinson as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many family and friends who have assisted us during this very difficult time. We praise God for his many blessings and are so grateful for each person that said a kind word, made a phone call and gave your sincere condolences for our loss.
