Obituary of Harriet Stamper Young

Funeral services for Harriet L. Young age 84 of Grayson will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday August 15, 2018 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Tuesday August 14, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Harriet Young was born on July 20,1934 at Fayetteville, North Carolina to the union of her parents, Marshall Lindsay and Maggie Bell Hobson Lindsay and passed from this life on August 12, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. Harriet was a member of the Holum Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her son, Joey young; by her step son: Deion Young and by an infant child and by her parents. Harriet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very precious as she loved being a grandmother. Reading was a passion of hers along with Angels. She also loved beautiful flowers. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her husband: Spencer H. Young, JR of Grayson; three sons: Johnny Stamper and wife Amy of Grayson, Doug Stamper and wife Jackie of Columbia and Ronnie Stamper of Columbia; two daughters: Becky Manly and husband Clay of Columbia and Mary Young Taylor and husband Bruce of Jonesville; her grandchildren: Luke Stamper (Adrienne), Casey Stamper, Jessica Cooper (Logan) and Hart Stamper; her great grandchildren: Caroline Stamper, Griffin Stamper, Connor Cobb, Ryland Crooks, Nolan Crooks, Cole Cooper, Hailey Manly, Hunter Manly, Gage Taylor, Trace Taylor and Melissa Taylor.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Manly, Connor Cobb, Doug Stamper, Ronnie Stamper, Johnny Stamper and Luke Stamper.
