I have read in the Bible, that in the future, God promises that we will no longer have to deal with the pain that death causes those who are left behind- Rev 21: 3&4. Until that day comes, peace to you.

My heart hurts to write this. Layton was good friends with my son Kristopher who passed away in September 2012 at the age of 20 as a result of an automobile accident. Layton like my son was very much admired by many people. Two beautiful souls are joined together again. I would like to think they are sitting under a beautiful tree in heaven getting caught up with all the happenings since Kristopher went to live in heaven. One day we will all be together again that know the Lord. God bless you all. Love Katherine and Mike Murphy

Layton and I lived together during our sophomore year at Tech and although we lost touch over the years I will always remember his incredibly strong work ethic and family values. He would come home covered in oil and grease, make a meal and then get right to studying. He was a good man who worked hard and cherished his loved ones. My wife and I send our deepest condolences and will keep his family in our prayers.

I’m so sorry for your loss I cannot imagine what y’all are going through at this point in time. I don’t know what happened last night with your family but I cried for a long time thinking of the loss of your son. Words cannot express the sorrow we’re feeling for your family now.

I worked with Layton in Spring Hill at Tenneco. I remember his interview like it was yesterday. Layton was instrumental in the success of launching our plant. He wa so smart and had the confidence to always succeed. He was available, witty, so intelligent. He had a passion to learn and improve. I cared very much for Layton. He was very in love with his new bride and his smile and laughter could fill a room. I left Tenneco and missed Layton very much. Now I miss him more than ever. He was a friend to many and supported so many with his ability to always figure it out no matter what the challenges were. He was a winner and I know we will meet again where there are no tears. But for now I will shed my fair share waiting to laugh with him again. Love you Layton. Jeff Banks

Layton was such a sweet, fun-loving young man. So easy-going, I never saw him angry or upset. I knew him from church, where he was in the youth group with my son and daughter, and from school, where I taught him. The world lost a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am sorry for your loss, the world lost a great man who has had an impact on so many people. I remember first meeting Layton on a late night in Bogard hall where we worked together and he kept everyone's spirits up.
One great memory was when he was a groomsmen in my wedding. The night before all he wanted to do was make sure we had a good time as always and to make sure I showed up to my wedding looking well rested. He showed up with water, advil, and eye drops to Rabs and kept the night going. He is a 10 / 10 man who will never be forgotten.

I am saddened to hear the news of Layton's passing. His southern charm and confidence impressed me enough to hire him at Numatics. He was a very talented man, great man, and funny. He blessed many people's lives at Numatics. He helped me later when my daughter played softball twice in Alexanderia. I will miss my Louisiana buddy.

To say I was proud to call you my son-in-law is an understatement. From the first time I first met you to the last time I was with you I enjoyed every single minute. Our joking, our engineer conversations, it was all an unbelievable experience. There was never any doubt my little girl had found a one of a kind. You watched over her and protected her as well as, if not better, than I could have ever wanted for her. I will never forget the joy you brought to our entire family. Already missing that infectious smile. Love you man!!
