Obituary of Kathryn Janet Nugent Roberts

 Kathryn Nugent Roberts, 64, of Winnfield, passed from this life on October 21, 2018, at her home.  She was a retired registered nurse, who spent her career working for Hardtner Medical Center and for twelve years at Rapides Home Health where she not only provided care for her patients but genuinely cared for them as well.

            First and foremost, she was a wife and mother who loved her family.  To her family and friends, she was simply “Kathy.”

            She was a 1972 graduate of LaSalle High School and received her degree in Nursing from LSU at Alexandria in 1982.

            The oldest of five children, she was born April 4, 1954, and grew up in Urania, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Aline Nugent of Urania.

            She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mike Roberts; her sons, Kurt Boyd of San Diego, California, Kyle Boyd and Andrew Roberts and his wife Terri, all of Winnfield, and her daughters, Andrea Roberts and Chelsea Roberts.  She leaves behind three grandchildren, Sadie, Sarah, and Owen Roberts.  She is also survived by her sister Carol Kidd of Pearland, Texas; brothers, Jerry Nugent of Alexandria, Paul Nugent of Monroe, and Matt Nugent of Urania.

            Services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018, at 2 P.M. at Riser & Son Funeral Home in Olla.  Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Urania Cemetery.
