Obituary of Jessie Claudette Palmer
Graveside funeral services for Claudette Palmer age 82 of Grayson will be held 4:00 PMThursday October 25, 2018 at the Chickasaw Cemetery west of Olla with Rev. Patrick Willis officiating. Services have been entrusted to Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Claudette Harper Palmer was born on February 27, 1936 at Kelly, LA to the union of her parents Jessie C. Harper and Laura Belle Prestridge Harper and passed from this life on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at the St Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Palmer, her son Mike Franklin and her parents. She was a member of the Rosefield Baptist Church and loved to cook for her family. She loved to work in her yard and always grew beautiful flowers. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
Claudette was a humble, hardworking woman. She put her children before herself always. She instilled in them a strong work ethic by example and was very proud of every one of them. She was a blessing to her family and will be greatly missed. Nothing made her happier than all of her children to be together with her. She worked many years in the dietary department of Haven Nursing Center. She took lots of pride in providing good meals for the resiedents and employees.
Survivors include: Two sons: Clark Franklin and wife Rhonda of Grayson and James Palmer and wife Melissa also of Grayson; four daughters: Debbie Garza and husband Jessie of Monterey, Mexico; Donna Benson and husband Randy of Grayson, Cindy Nappier and husband Tarod of Grayson and Lorrie Campbell and husband Eddie of Douglasville, Georgia; her special granddaughter: Niki Palmer, eight grandchildren: Kade Benson, Allen Nappier, April Palmer, Adam Palmer, Jessica Garza, Erica Garza, Jessie Garza, Jr; and Debbie Garza and nine great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Palmer, Clark Franklin, Randy Benson, Jesse Garza, Adam Palmer and Allen Nappier. Honorary pallbearers include Chris McKee and Tyler McKee.
