Obituary of Carolina Sanchez Martinez

Funeral services for Carolina Sanchez Martinez, age 86 of West Monroe will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 8, 2018 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Etier Cemetery at Hebert. Visitation will be on Thursday as well, from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Carolina Sanchez Martinez was born on Febuary 7,1932 at Cordel, Texas to her parents, Roland Sanchez and Guadalupe Sosa Sanchez and passed from this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Carlos Martinez; her son, Emanuel Rodriguez; two sisters: Mary Louise Rodriguez and Elizabeth Rivera and two brothers: Alvin Sanchez and Steve Sanchez.

Left to cherish her memory are four sons: Art Villerral and wife, Delyn of Monroe, Joe Rodrigez of El Campo, Texas, Eddie Russell and wife, Tere of Columbia and Mercy Martinez of West Monroe; four daughters: Aurora Covarrubias of Girod, Lupe Moreno and husband, Lupe of Victoria, Texas, Synida (Cindy) Treveno of El Campo, Texas and Hope Farmer of West Monroe; three brothers: Reuben Sanchez of El Campo, Texas, Sammy Sanchez and Gilbert Sanchez both of Edna, Texas; three sisters: Janie Vela of Victoria, Texas, Rosie Chanek of Edna, Texas and Nova Deleon of Edna, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren and three special friends: Frances Oliveaux , David "Grease" Colvin and Becky Howard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Linda Espinosa, Brooke Farmer, Joe Don Harris, Joseph Villarreal, Joe Moreno and Yolanda Rodrigez. Honorary pallbearer will be James Moreno.
